Staying in Beacon Hill - restaurants?

Hi guys,

We%26#39;ve a similar question to some recent posts: we%26#39;ll be staying 3 nights in Beacon Hill, midweek at the end of June. We like fun or romantic restaurants, and we eat anything - do you have some recommendations?

I saw some interesting recommendations here:

Thanks!

Fun would be Figs on Charles Street. Romantic would be Hungry I, also on Charles.

Toscano%26#39;s on Charles.

9 Park is across from The State House.

Hello - I live in Beacon Hill and there are lots of great restaurants:

Romantic would be The Hungry I - try to sit outside on their patio. It%26#39;s on Charles Street.

Fun - Alibi at Liberty Hotel (an old jail which they have done an amazing job renovating). Near Charles Street.

Lala Rokh is a great restaurant too with interesting food.

Then my personal favorite is The Paramount which is a neighborhood favorite, from 1937.

I just heard that 75 Chestnut is really nice (on... 75 Chestnut Street). It used to be quite upscale but is a bit more casual now.

I have a full listing of my favorites (with descriptions and links to websites) on my website:

Bin Enoteca is good too!

Enjoy! Let us know where you end up going!

Some suggestions:

-Grotto in Beacon Hill for Italian

-Toro in the South End for tapas

-Neptune Oyster in the North End for seafood

-Sage in the South End for Italian

-Eastern Standard in Kenmore Square for French-inspired bistro food

-Gaslight in the South End for Frech

Many thanks all. Will print out your thoughts %26amp; bring with us. Feeling hungry already!

:)

Lots of good suggestions above. I like Grotto on Bowdoin St. and Pierrot (country French) on Cambridge St. Most restaurants in the area are on or just off Cambridge and Charles Sts. Grotto is a block from Cambridge St.

You have many many suggestions.

All are good.

But, like Swede, I also live on Beacon Hill---actually for the last 15 years.

And yes, there are many interesting, different, unique.

But if you have just a couple of nights here, I would:

Pierrot

Moo

Number Nine--though very expensive, but a meal and staff to remember

Grotto, sooooo overlooked.

People tend to go to Tuscano.

Don%26#39;t.

Iffy, often, even under new ownership.

Go to Grotto.

And one of the best bars in Boston, is The 7, for local feel.

I don%26#39;t recommend 75 Chestnut, except the bar.

Bin Enoteca has a wonderful wine bar.

And yes, venture outside to Neptune.

It is truly special.

You should have fresh seafood while here.

...had to put my many cents in.

cheers and eat up.

Boston has become a wonderful place to break bread!
