Best Lobster Roll/ Seafood shacks???

It will be our first time to MV next week %26amp; we would LOVE some recommendations for very casual ';seafood shacks'; where we can sit outside and enjoy lobster rolls, fried clams etc.

Also, if anyone has suggestions for the best seafood shops to buy raw goods to prepare at the house, that would be great too!

Net Result in Vineyard haven.....its by the road, not very picturesque but food is very good.

Head to Menemsha...quintisential lobster shack experiance can be had there, frsh lobsters, shanty buildings, eat outside...if you go late, you can experience an unforgettable sunset if there is one out....but you wont be alone...its quite crowded...we go there by boat, private charter, grab lobsters, get them boiled and hang on the docks..a.very laid back Vineyard thing.

NANCYS in Oak Bluffs is a fried clam, fried anything lovers dream, stay downstairs and eat outside.

There is a ';shack'; in Edgartown near the Chappy Ferry that has good lobster rolls

the bite in menemsha is SOO good!! fried shrimp, chicken fingers, fried macaroni and cheese!! it%26#39;s just a little stand SOOOOO cute!!! it%26#39;s really good too! also, for a great lobsterroll go to the quarterdeck, also in menemsha! delicious!

Hands down menemsha! They will even boil the lobster for you and you can take them right down on the beach and watch the sun go down. (within walking distance from the fish shops) set up your beach chairs, a little vino and you are good to go. When my kids were little we would also bring a habachi and cook hot dogs for them and then smores for all the little ones on the beach that evening. Ahh the memories! Call ahead to place your order so that you can be sure they save you one or two! Wish I was going to the Vineyard this year! Enjoy

I have only been gone for one day, and I can%26#39;t wait to get back. I didn%26#39;t truly experience MV until this visit. That%26#39;s why I recommend going out to Aquinnah or Menemsha for the true experience. The beaches are also awesome.

I 2nd the Net Result recommendation. Nancy%26#39;s is too crowded and the food was not as tasty as at Net. The only difference is that Nancy%26#39;s has a bar.

I have been going to the Vineyard for about 20 years now...love it!! Net Result is awesome!! nancy%26#39;s is overpriced and crowded but good eats. The best HAS to be THE Bite!! Hands down!!
