Anniversary at the Cape not sure where to stay...

My wife and I used to go out to the Cap every year when I lived there, but hadn%26#39;t made a trip out there in a while. She surprised me for our first anniversary by booking a room at Crow%26#39;s Nest Resort in Truro. Its close to Provincetown for whale watching, Truro vineyards for some wine tasting, and good food.

As for the room itself, the studios have fireplaces in them and open up to the beach.

Hopefully that is somewhat helpful.

Anniversary at the Cape not sure where to stay...

I%26#39;ll put in a suggestion to stay at Ashley Manor B%26amp;B in Barnstable. A noted place for romantic getaways and delicious breakfasts. The route 6A area from Sandwich to Orleans is a wonderful drive. Might be a bit on the busy side, but so will the rest of the Cape. This whole area is noted for it%26#39;s historical beauty and importance. The beaches on Cape Cod Bay (north side of the Cape) are perfect for laying out and watching the day go by. Barnstable Village has many quaint shops and art galleries and Hyannis is a short drive for tons of shopping choices. You can take a whale watch right out of Barnstable Harbor.

Regardless of where you decide to go, I hope your first trip to the Cape is filled with romance and discovery. Enjoy.

In Falmouth check out Inn on the Sound for an elegant and upscale B%26amp;B experience with an oceanview and wonderful breakfast buffet included.

I would agree to base yourself in one place and do day trips as the Cape just isn%26#39;t that big and won%26#39;t be full of traffic during the June 14th week. Great time to go. Still off season prices at hotels and rentals.

If you want to do a whale watch, I would encourage you to stay within striking distance of Ptown since trips from there are the shortest distance to Stellwagen Bank (where the whales are).

Orleans, Brewster, Chatham and Eastham would be my picks.

I would consider renting a cottage with 2 BRs. I just looked on my favorite website (which I won%26#39;t mention since it will get me in trouble with a certain poster) and found many available for that week for as little as $950. No maid service but possibly more comfort. Let me know if that%26#39;s interesting to you and I will send you a PM with some websites to check.

Enjoy! We%26#39;re going tomorrow to beat the Boston heat wave (%26#39;tho with temps in the 50s today it%26#39;s hard to believe a heat wave is coming tomorrow!). Should be fun!

PM = private message and you%26#39;ll see a note in the top right when you get one.

I%26#39;m stumped Crosner. Did you post your reply to the wrong inquirer? I think the three ladies coming up on June 14 may have needed your advice???

Dear Robarton -

Honeysuckle Hill B%26amp;amp;B in West Barnstable has hosted many honeymoon guests who found an awful lot to do in addition to the obvious! We are very close to the whale watch, just 3 minutes by car from our local beach and only 15 minutes from the island ferries. Sandwich, a lovely village with the Heritage Museum, the Glass Museum,a wonderful tea shop and numerous shops and restaurants,is a short drive away. Chatham, Falmouth and Provincetown are further away but still can be done in a day. We are a lovely Queen Anne Inn, circa 1810, located on historic and picturesque Route 6A in West Barnstable, Cape Cod which is dotted with many restaurants and shops.

Our Inn is surrounded by lovely English gardens. Set against the gardens is a wonderful hot tub/spa which our guests love to relax in. We also have a screened-in wraparound porch where guests enjoy starting the morning their morning with coffee and our home baked scones or muffins before moving into the dining room for an unforgettable gourmet breakfast. You will enjoy many additional 5 star amenities such as complimentary wine, beer, cordials, liqueurs and concierge service. As a honeymoon couple you will also be greeted with champagne in your room.

Our website is: www.honeysucklehill.com and, certainly, you can look us up on Tripadvisor and see our guests%26#39; comments.

We would be delighted to have you as guests!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding,

Freddy and Ruth Riley
