duckmobile etc..

Hi. Has anyone ever taken the duckmobile? Just wondering your thoughts. Interesting? Boring? Two adults and 9 yr old.

Also, We did the whale watch two years ago and loved it and was thinking of doing it again but was also looking for opinions on the seal watches. To those who have done both, which did you prefer?

Thanks

Do you mean the Duck Boats that go around Hyannis (since you are posting in the Cape Cod forums)? I went a few years ago on the one in Hyannis and it was pretty fun if you haven%26#39;t been on one before. I had my niece and nephew age 6 and 8 and they liked it. The prices are a little expensive though for a 60 minute tour.

BTW Just wanted to clarify that the Cape Cod Duckmobiles aren%26#39;t associated with the Boston Duck Boats. It is a similar type tour but not the same company.

Yes, I was referring to the Duck boats in Hyannis.

It looked like something my daughter would like.

We took her on the kids pirate cruise in Hyannis last time and that was really nice too.

Hi there,

We%26#39;ve done the seals out of Chatham with Beachcomber. For us that was only okay. It reminded me of all the seals at Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf in San Fran. Somehow we were much more interested in seeing fewer of them around the boats at the Chatham fish pier than sitting together all in droves.

We did whale watching again last year as the right whales are there in record numbers. As you know, it%26#39;s amazing and you get so close.

A few years ago we saw the Duck Mobile loading up on Main St. in Hyannis and we jumped on. It is somewhat interesting (for adults) and kids might love it more. The commentary is quite humorous and, like most things, the guide is what makes the trip. I wouldn%26#39;t repeat but I didn%26#39;t want my money back either. If you are planning to be in Hyannis then go for it. If you are there around lunch or dinner time you can eat right out on the wharf at Pleasant at Baxter%26#39;s Boat House (or inside if the weather isn%26#39;t co-operating). We think the melt in your mouth scallops are their best menu item. Arrive by boat or by car. Also in Hyannis, an alternate way to get out on the water is the Cat Boat. Very popular. Last year Hyannis had weekly free music festival on Thursdays during high season. Check out www.capeweek.com or see the insert to the Friday Cape Cod Times when you arrive for details.

I was going to suggest the pirate ship also but see that you already enjoyed that.

One good thing about the Duckmobiles is they don%26#39;t seem to have huge problems getting on one as compare to getting on the Boston Duck Boats where many times are sold out etc. So you can play it by ear and wait to book and make sure the weather is nice the day you go. Where if you want to go on a Boston Duck Tour you must often book ahead in the summer months.

Also around Hyannis we enjoyed the harbor cruise that takes you out to see the Kennedy compound and narrates a tour of the harbor. The kids age 6 and 8 liked being on the boat. Another quick idea: Cape Cod Potato Chip factory was a quick, free 30 min to 1 hour thing to do.
