Kids Lobster Trip

I remember seeing ads %26amp; hearing about a lobster cruise for kids, where you go fishing for lobsters (and are guaranteed to get them), very hands-on for kids, and you get to take your lobster home. Anyone heard of it? We%26#39;re heading back to the Colony Beach/Dennisport in August for our annual trip. We usually do the Pirate Cruise out of Hyannis, but think my 6yro DD would love the lobster cruise! Thanks much.

Kids Lobster Trip

I will take a look around - sounds like a great time! A helpful resource when you arrive is ';Kids on the Cape';, a comprehensive guide to a wide array of activities. You can find this free guide at any visitor%26#39;s center office, most grocery stores, and most family friendly establishments.

No trip to the Cape would be complete without a trip up to the National Seashore Visitors Center in Eastham.. They have wonderful hikes, tidal pool explorations, family beach bonfires, and more. Visit http://www.nps.gov/caco/forkids/index.htm for updated kids programs on offer.

Another free and wonderful old world Cape Cod experience for kids is the Taylor Bray Farm, in Yarmouthport (please note this is not near Dennisport, despite the ';port'; - Yarmouthport is on the bayside). Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy picturesque views of undeveloped land. Meet some chickens, cattle, sheep and more. www.taylorbrayfarm.org

Directions to the farm:..from the lower cape go west on Route 6A through Dennis, to just over the Yarmouth town line, and turn right at Oliver%26#39;s Restaurant, and go to the end of the road. from the upper/mid cape area go east on Route 6A through Yarmouth, and turn left at Oliver%26#39;s Restaurant and go to the end of the road (Bray Farm Road).

Enjoy!

I don%26#39;t know if lobsters are guaranteed but there%26#39;s an excursion run out of Provincetown by Townsend Seafood. Check www.townsendseafood.com and click on Lobster Excursions. They seem to cater to kids based on local ads I%26#39;ve seen. There%26#39;s a contact so you can email them to check out details.
