Hi there,
My first time in P-Town was in 1999. Since then, I%26#39;ve never missed a summer. Every year, I fall in love with the place all over again. Well, when I got back this year, I went through my usual withdrawls! I bought some calendars, postcards, etc so I can frame them around my house.
I%26#39;ve been visiting different sites on P-Town. This being one of them. I also found a ';Live'; webcam on www.provincetown.com. The camera focuses on Commercial and Ryder. However, it%26#39;s of a Park Bench. There%26#39;s an option to control the camera, but it doesn%26#39;t seem to work. I LOVE the idea and wish there was one focused on Commercial Street so I can watch year round =)
Does anyone here live on Commercial Street?
Well, there%26#39;s not much of a point of this posting. I just wanted to blab a little about P-Town. Maybe chat with some members here over the year - looking foward to my next trip in August 2007.
Thanks for reading...

There is or used to be a webcam of Commercial which I used to check to see the weather. Look around for it on the newspaper website capecodtimes.com. They also have the Beachcomber and you can check the traffic on the approach to both bridges.
Would you let me know if you find it? Thx.
Hi Cape Cod Charlie,
Changing the subject quicky....did you get hit w/ those storms last night? We in Winfield were flooded. Winfield sewage backed up into our basement, always a lovely thing to wake up to at 2:00 A.M.
Waiting for the sanitation cleanup crew to get here. Wish I were leaving for Cape Cod THIS week.....By the way one of the women on this trip is from Warrenville, have you lived there long?
Sorry to interrupt the piece on P-town. We will be leaving for Cape Cod next week. So looking forward to seeing this town after, ahem, 30 some years....
Thanks for all the advise from everyone....
Here%26#39;s the link to the Live Web Cam
provincetown.com/features/…
Let me know if there%26#39;s another cam online some where. I really love having it on when I%26#39;m on the computer. Relaxes me, however makes me miss it more and more.
Thanks for all of the replies. I didn%26#39;t expect to hear back from anyone, LOL.
Where%26#39;s this Dan the Man???
=)

I%26#39;m glad you like Ptown so much. I%26#39;m a sort of part-time year around person, about 30% Ptown, 70% Boston. It is a great place. Anyway, the camera. I%26#39;ve seen it online and it is usually aimed more west along Commercial St. Unfortunately the computer I%26#39;m using doesn%26#39;t have the necessary plug-in to view it so I don%26#39;t know what its problem is, but I think it has just gotten moved around and eventually someone who can do something about it will notice and correct the problem.
I love the cam. Was able to control it and check out the boats in the water, the streets filled with people - I love it.
I would love to get a place up there for the summer, but too much going on here to be away for so long. Over time that will change, LOL
Thanks for any stories, info, etc. Can%26#39;t wait to return.
Joey
Hi Moe, Last night for me is now Tuesday night and I%26#39;m out of town for business but yes, Monday night we did get a little water in the basement. Fortunately for us it always seems to come in just in one corner and that%26#39;s on the unfinished side so we just have to stay up with the shop vac and monitor the situation. I%26#39;m sorry to hear that you had such a mess and really, it%26#39;s a good thing you weren%26#39;t gone when that hit. Leaving that sit for a while would not be a good thing to return to right? Yes, we%26#39;ve been living in the Ward 1 area of Warrenville for about 16 years. That still makes us newcomers but the natives are friendly.
Please post a return Cape trip report when you get back and I%26#39;ll be very interested to hear how you find the weather and the leaves. Have fun. I know you will.
Hey, I always visit the web cam that is on the web site www.crownepointe.com, its a great Inn that has a web site that overlooks the town. I love Ptown as well and cant wait to get back.
Thanks Naomi of thinking of me! :)
I can TRULY relate! I have been going to P-Town since 89 and like you...I fall in LOVE with the place everytime I go there! I too get my withdrawls and I too go to the webcam every day! LOL
Also go to spirituspizza.com and they have a cam! I constantly go to the cam and think about the times I sit on the benches eating pizza and people watching!
The reason why I LOVE P-Town is as a gay man I can be open about myself and NOT be judged. The people are SOOOO friendly! I LOVE going to Joe%26#39;s coffee shop early in the mornings to grab a cup of coffee and a muffin and I LOVE how people greet you with a warm smile with a ';good morning';!
I LOVE the beaches, the bike trails, the shops, the museums, the bars etc...I LOVE sitting on Commercial Street with a nice cup of ice-cream and people watch and you can see it in their faces of the fun that they are having and the memories that they are making.
I go to P-Town about 4 times a year (I live 4 hrs away) and still CANNOT get enough from this place!
This year I invited my brother and his girlfriend along with my sister and her husband and they LOVED it! My brother in law couldn%26#39;t stay away from The Lobster Pot%26#39;s oysters and clam chowder! He told me that once I start booking my trips for next year to let them know because he wants to go back!
P-Town is DEFINITELY a place to fall in love with! Glad to hear another person who have discovered this LOVING place!
Hey Dan,
There you are! Yes, It%26#39;s crazy how much of an affect it had on me. Unfortunately, I only get up there once a year. I hope to work on that.
Here%26#39;s a great webcam site I came across
http://www.provincetownlivecams.com/Webcam.html
You can select from 12 different shots. I%26#39;ve seen the one at Crown Pointe, The pizza place, provincetown, and the one above.
I%26#39;m not a big tech person, but I would love to build a webpage that would open up with all of the cams on it. I%26#39;m sure it can be done. However, that%26#39;s over my head.
I%26#39;ve never been to P-town in the Fall. I picture it to be wonderful, just as it does in the webcam. I am a big Tea person. Love sitting out in this Fall weather, having tea at a coffee shop, just watching everyone - enjoying the breeze off of the water.
I%26#39;m at work now, but will write more later. I never run out of stuff to talk about in P-Town. I love it for the same reasons most people do. It%26#39;s SO relaxing and fun. There%26#39;s no place like it.
Write more soon....
Joey =)
