How far is the T station from the Bunker Hill monument. The MBTA website is a little fuzzy on it. How safe is that neighborhood...especially around Warren and Monument? Thanks.
T Question
Hey! We actually rode the T to the closest station we could get to near the Bunker Hill Monument. We started on the Green Line in Copley Square and got off @ Bunker Hill Community College and walked down the hill to the monument. We felt very safe. The neighborhood that lead directly to the monument seemed very nice. In fact one of the condos right across the street from the BHM was listed @ $595,000. For that amount of money I%26#39;m sure it%26#39;s an excellent neighborhood! :D
T Question
Teacher91 nailed that question for you.
Sooner,
To get to the Community College T stop, you would be on the orange line. I assume teacher started out on the green line and transfered at Haymarket or North Station to the orange line. She just forgot to mention that in her post. :)
Oh yeah! We DID switch to the Orange Line! DUH!! Thanks for covering for me Will. :)
BTW... don%26#39;t let the ';switching from one line to the next scare you. It%26#39;s actually very easy to do and the people of Boston are very helpful whenever you are in doubt or need reassurance that you are headed in the right direction!
The trick to switching lines is just making sure you get on going in the right direction. Double-check the signs on the wall and on the front car and make sure that you%26#39;ve got the right train. When on board, note the next stop and make sure it indicates that you%26#39;re headed in the right direction. If you make a wrong turn, it%26#39;s easy to correct it--just exit the car, go upstairs and over and redirect yourself. At most stations, this is easy. The only way you can get really messed up is if you get on going the wrong way and don%26#39;t pay attention. I%26#39;ve been on the Quincy train halfway to Braintree when people have realized they were going the wrong way. If you pay attention and ask for help if you need it, you shouldn%26#39;t have any problem. It%26#39;s a pretty easy subway system to figure out.
Yes, and one footnote to what Queens said re: redirectig yourself in the T station. Just make sure you don%26#39;t exit by mistake otherwise you%26#39;ll have to pay again.
Thanks for the insight everyone. It is greatly appreciated.
