Hotel advice

Hi everyone,

I%26#39;m coming to Boston on business next month and need a hotel to stay for the weekend. I want to be near to all the attractions and places to eat etc, but I don%26#39;t want to pay through the nose. I%26#39;m 24 and female and so also want somewhere in a safe area. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Kelly

Since ';paying through the nose'; varies from person to person, it would be better for you to give a specific dollar amount.

Hotel advice

What do you consider ';paying through the nose';?

Well, I guess I%26#39;d like to do it as cheap as possible, but still be in a nice area! I%26#39;m a graduate student, so maybe no more than $300 entire stay. Less than $100 a night would be nice.

If that%26#39;s really your budget limit (it%26#39;s a little hard to tell from the tone of your post), then you cannot stay in the city near the attractions or places to eat you desire for that money. It would be more likely be at least double that or close to double anyway. Do a search for ';hotels near the T'; and you%26#39;ll find many conversations on accomodations outside the city but on the subway lines.

Try Hotwire or Priceline-

Choose hotels from either the Back Bay/Copley, Quincy Market/Finacial District or Boston Common/Theater district and you will have the location that you are looking for.

What is your exact check in date and exact check out date?

Thanks Remay, very helpful.

I%26#39;m not sure why the tone of my post makes people think that%26#39;s not my real budget...? Being from the UK, I know little about what to expect from dollar prices, my last experience in the US being in Orlando which I don%26#39;t think is indicative of general city prices.

I%26#39;ll be there on the weekend of July 11th-14th. I think I%26#39;ve found a hotel on the freedom trail, a little over budget but the cheapest I could fine. It%26#39;s called the Omni Parker and seems to have good reviews on here.

The Omni Parker House is good if you have a good price for it.

For your travel dates on hotwire.com, there is a 3* in the Quincy Market-Financial District for $109 a night ($367.62 total with ALL taxes) with the amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant, Hi Speed Internet Access. This matches the descritpion of the Holiday Inn Beacon Hill according to the pinned hotwire list on betterbidding.com. The Omni would be nicer.

Not sure what you are paying for the Omni, but a hotel matching its description is also on hotwire.com:

4*, Quincy Market-Financial District, amenities include: Fitness Center, Business Center, Restaurant, Hi Speed Internet Access. The cost is $129 a night. When you add in ALL taxes and fees it comes to $435.56.

So if you are getting a better deal with your Omni reservation, you%26#39;ve done well.

The Omni Parker House is a nice hotel in a good area. I like it a lot.

Be aware, however, that if you are getting a $129 room from them, it likely will be their smallest room, which is just large enough for a bed, night stand, chest of drawers, with a small separate shower. Literally, it is 10 feet by 10 feet.

I%26#39;ve stayed in it, it%26#39;s a great bargain for Boston, but you don%26#39;t want to stay in that room except to sleep, it%26#39;s just too small for anything other than sleep.

Sign,

Can%26#39;t you just ask for another room if you get one you consider too small? Or is the Parker house not nice about accommodating their guests requests?

On hotwire there is no mention of room size, so no assumption can be made (Or can it? What am I missing?)
