Hi,
I%26#39;m going to the SOX game Thursday night, I%26#39;d like to catch as much as Game 4 as possible with the locals.
Any reccommendations for a sports bar type place near Fenway, or between Fenway and Boston or South Boston that I could get a chair at?
Thanks!
Thursday night after the SOX game...where to watch Game 4?
Literally every bar with a television will have it on. If you want to stick around Fenway, the best answer is ';wherever you can get in';.
Thursday night after the SOX game...where to watch Game 4?
Just FYI, the Tuesday and Thursday Sox games will be starting at 6:05.
At first glance the logical choice would be one of the Fenway Bars (Cask N Flagon, Boston Beer Works, Boston Billiards, et. al.), but with 35,000+ fans thinking the same thing they%26#39;re might be a smidgen of a line. I%26#39;m not a huge advocate of this but you could always leave a half inning early to beat the crowds. Lie another post-er stated--the game will be on everywhere, so any bar that has an opening go for it.
The South Boston bars that are more tourist-friendly are the Beer Garden and The Playwright--both located a block or two away from one another on East Broadway.
I went to the Sox game last Thursday and wanted to go to a place that was not packed with drunk Sox fans to watch game one of the NBA finals I stayed to the end of the game. (I love the music at the end of a winning game) The crowds are smaller in the park about 5 minutes after the game is over. All the bars near Fenway were packed with lines out the door. We walked towards Commonwealth Ave and had dessert at Petit Robert Bistro%26#39;s Pastry Bar (468 Comm. Ave) and watched the game. The staff were so friendly including the pastry chef. The dessert were delicious. We watched the game from there unfortunately, they close at 11 PM so we moved on and walked a few blocks to Mass Ave to Boylston St. and watched the end of the game at the bar at Vinny T%26#39;s on 867 Boylston St. Plenty of seats at the bar and a very nice bartender. You can walk towards Hynes Convention T stop or Copley T stop many bars in this area and they should have seats available. The further you walk from Fenway the better chance of finding a bar with a seat. Enjoy!

Great info! Thanks. If the lines are too big a walk to Vinny T%26#39;s looks good, or a drive to South Boston closer to the hotel. Thanks again, go Celtics!
I walked over to Vinny T%26#39;s but ';whiskeys'; down the block was more my style, and it rocked, for Game 4. Thanks!
