Trip Report Boston 5/8 to 5/12

We stayed at The Marriott Courtyard at Copley Place. The hotel was great as everyone was always very helpful. The location was fantastic, as it was 2 blocks from two T stops. We had dinner at Tapeo, a Tapas place, which we really enjoyed. They had a variety of tasty small plates that were very delicious, and had another dinner at Skipjacks, where the seafood was great, as I enjoyed my horesradish encrusted salmon, amd mw wife loved the sea bass. We also had a dinner at Stephanie%26#39;s on Newbury, which was also quite good. The only meal that was subpar aws at Kingfish Hall, where my Tuna done three ways was not good, and my wife%26#39;s mussels were very salty. We had lunch one day at The Parish Cafe, which has a large variety of unusual but delicious salads and sandwiches. We had one breakfast outside the hotel, and it was at Poncificio, in Beacon Hill. The place was charming and they prepared great omlettes.

We took The Unofficial Tour of Harvard, ehich is run by students, and it was very informative and interesting. There is no charge, but they do take donations. We also took the Park Ranger%26#39;s tour of The Freedom Trail, that was was very interesting. We went to The Museum Of Fine Arts that had many interesting paintings to look at and we went to the Fogg Museum at Harvard, which was also alot of fun. We took the Fenway Park tour , which we enjoyed and gave us the history of that great ballpark. You definitely do not need a car in Boston, as the Never had to wait more than 4 minutes to catch any T. We purchased the 7 day pass, which saved us alot of money, how many times we rode the T. We also took the Commuter rail to Rockport, which had many interesting and quaint shoppes to look for different items. We enjoyed Quincy Market with all the different food vendors. We ate our first Lobster Roll. which we enjoyed with a bowl of clam chowder. We went to the Comedy Connection, which had a showcase of upcoming talent on a Sunday evening. We walked through thre Haymarket on Friday, which was an unbeleviably large and fabulous produce market. We enjopyed our trip to Boston, and I want to thank all of you who helped guide us to all the great places that Boston has to offer.

Very good TR glad you had fun in Boston.

Hey Steve ... glad you and your wife enjoyed our city. Thanks for posting. :D

Thanks bigfatsteve for your trip report. What time did the student led tour of Harvard start and how long is it? I was thinking of doing it on our last morning before our 3:45 pm flight and wondered if I could fit it in along with lunch @ Mr. Bartley%26#39;s Burger Cottage.

I%26#39;m glad to hear you enjoyed the Comedy Connection. We might do that one evening if we are not totally wiped out from our day of fun in Boston! :D

Great trip report. Thanks for posting!

The times for the Unofficial tour of Havard are: 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30. The tours last for an hour with two guides that are very interesting. Go to their website

www.harvardtour.com/ for more info.

Thanks Steve! I think the 10:30 would definitely be doable! I%26#39;ll go check out the website now...

Sounds like fun..I%26#39;m excited about my upcoming trip...

Was the commuter rail trip to Rockport included in your 7 day pass? I want to take the rail to Salem one day and was wondering if I should get a visitors pass or just pass as I go. We%26#39;ll be there 6 days

The Commuter rail trip to Rockport is not covered in the 7 day pass, because it is out of the region included in the pass. Definitely get the 7 day pass, as we used the T about 6 tomes a day, and saved alot of money. I could not believe how quick the T arrives, as we didn%26#39;t have to wait more than 4 minutes till itcame.

Very nice trip report, thank you.
